The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement is headed by an appointed director who oversees a staff of more than 850 federal employees. With headquarters located in Washington D.C., and Sterling, Virginia, national policy is set by BSEE’s six divisions and implementation of policies is achieved through three regional offices: one in New Orleans, one in Anchorage, one in Camarillo, California. The bureau also operates an office in Houston Texas, near major offices for the majority of the offshore energy industry.
Additionally, renewable energy operations are underway along the Atlantic coast, which is managed by BSEE’s Renewable Energy Operations team in Sterling, Va.
The organizational chart provides a snapshot of BSEE’s overall structure, which is supported by a number of focused programs, sections, research entities, and district offices.
