Bronia Ashford is the Tribal Liaison Officer for the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE). She brings 26 years of human services experience, including 17 years of expertise in federal affairs, to her role. Prior to joining BSEE, she served as Chief of Tribal and Community Affairs at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). In that capacity, she advised leadership on how policies impact Tribal Nations, Native American organizations, and other stakeholders.
Before CBP, Bronia served as policy advisor at the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), where she led efforts to enhance human service systems and foster partnerships across federal, state, and tribal agencies. Additionally, she also managed projects that resulted in the development of a trauma-informed human services tool.
Bronia holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hampton University, a Master of Science from Long Island University, an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Organizational Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University, and a Master of Public Policy from Walden University. She is also a graduate of Leadership New York (LNY27) and currently participates in the Executive Women in Government Mentoring Program.
