BSEE Director Completes four-day trip to Texas, Announces Intent to Open Technology Center, Meets with International Partners and Visits Offshore facility

Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Director Brian Salerno completed a four-day trip to the State of Texas where he participated in three panel discussions, met with international partners and equipment manufacturers at the Offshore Technology Conference in addition to visiting the Hoover Diana Facility offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.

On Monday, May 5, Director Salerno met with other international regulators from the International Regulators Forum for a discussion on offshore safety. The following day he participated in a panel discussion on risk with Department of Energy Acting Assistant Secretary Christopher Smith. During this event, Director Salerno announced his intent to open a technology center in Houston.

On Wednesday, May 7, Director Salerno traveled offshore to visit the Hoover Dianna facility operated by Exxon. The following day he joined U.S Coast Guard Rear Admiral Joseph Servidio for a discussion on pursuing operational excellence through safety management systems. Later that afternoon, Director Salerno again joined Rear Admiral Servidio, this time for a discussion on improving safety management systems and recognizing contributions.
