BSEE Director Observes Veterans Day

WASHINGTON - During the Department of the Interior's (DOI) Veterans Day program last week, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Director and retired U.S. Coast Guard Vice Admiral, Brian Salerno, said every veteran has a story. He also cited teamwork, camaraderie, the great outdoors and a desire to serve the community as just a few of the reasons veterans choose to continue their service with the DOI. Approximately 290 BSEE employees are veterans, who promote safety, protect the environment and conserve resources offshore.

Whether they wear the military uniform today, or wore it decades ago, veterans represent an unwavering dedication and exemplify the highest ideals of service to our Nation. On Veterans Day, BSEE encourages everyone to take a moment to reflect on the continued service of the veterans in your community. Veterans Day is a day of honor and a day to honor. On this day of celebration and reflection, thank everyone who has worn a U.S. military uniform for their honorable service and for our freedom.
