Camarillo, Ca. - Continuing to spread his message of partnership, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement Director Scott A. Angelle traveled to the west coast. Angelle participated in meetings with BSEE staff, industry, Air Force leadership, and other stakeholders Tuesday and Wednesday in California.

“BSEE continues to develop partnerships with all stakeholders, all in an effort to enhance the Nation’s energy program while not backing away from the requirements for safe and environmentally-sustainable operations, Angelle explained. “We need robust energy production from the OCS and it must be safe and environmentally-sustainable.”

Angelle held an All Hands meeting with BSEE staff at the Pacific Regional Office, Camarillo, Ca. Tuesday to hear about ongoing projects. He also met with representatives from ExxonMobil, discussing current and future Pacific Region activity.

Angelle engaged with leadership from Vandenberg Air Force Base discussing multi-use of marine resources. He was also briefed on the mission of the 30th Space Wing Wednesday.

Also on Wednesday, Angelle met with other interested stakeholders including the Environmental Defense Center, Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, Carpinteria Valley Association, League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara, Get Oil Out! and Citizens Planning Association.

“The Pacific remains an important contributor to our overall energy production,” said Angelle. “BSEE is committed to active partnerships to ensure that we are making the best decisions possible to secure America’s energy future.”
