Description

This project compiled information on current industry practices, procedures, and technologies used for oil demulsification and oil separation, both within the oil spill response industry and in related industries. The study reviwed, analyzed and summarized relevant new research and technology to identify areas where technology development could enhance oil demulsification or separation processes. The results will be used to inform potential enhancements to oil demulsification and separation technologies that will maximize allowable overboard water discharge and minimize onboard storage requirements.
