Description

The objective was to evaluate the interference problems and the required clearances between the long, unbraced risers to be connected to Floating Production Platforms (FPP), such as Tension Leg Platforms (TLP) and other Floating Production Systems (FPS). A parametric analysis, based on the current state-of-the-art FPS configurations were used to identify the potential for risers colliding with each other, with the FPP hull, or with mooring lines. The analysis highlighted problem areas, evaluated prevention methods, remedies and countermeasures, and identified the limits and boundaries of operations.
