Description

This was a Joint Industry Project (JIP) to further develop and verify the variability of Level 1 (qualitative scoring) and Level 2 (simplified quantitative) 'screening' methods for the reassessment and requalification of offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. The project utilized platform failure and survival experiences from past hurricanes including Andrew, Betsy, Camille, Carmen, and Hilda to verify and further develop the screening methodologies. The platforms were analyzed with the simplified method to determine their lateral capacities.
