The objective of this study was to: Extend the database of wave statistics,
Capture storm and loop current events and analyze TLP response to these events,
Assess occurrence of riser and tendon VIV events.
This study served to provide a two-year extension of work initiated under TAR Study 564 and included:
Monitoring - The measurements on board the Marco Polo TLP were extended for a period of 2 years.
Data Analysis - From this long term statistical overview events were selected for a more detailed short term analysis including statistics, spectral analysis, calculation of transfer functions and distributions as required.
Phase II work began in January 2008 and was completed in May 2010.
A summary public version of the JIP and its work is provided in the Reports section below.
