The objectives of the JIP is to expedite the publication of the updated ISO 13628-12 and update of API RP2RD, working in conjunction with the existing joint ISO/API Task Group and Chairman.

The Draft Revision of ISO 13628-12, Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries - Design and Operation of Subsea Production Systems - Part 12: Dynamic Risers for Floating Production Installations was provided to the API Task Group in 2010, modifed by the Task Group and later published in 2013 as follows:
